Journeying in God's story...

The Tim and Carrie Family

Hello, and thank you for visiting our page. Our adoption journey has been one of the most challenging and beautiful seasons of our lives, and we’re so grateful to share it with you.

Adoption has been on our hearts for many years. From the very beginning of our marriage, we felt God calling us to care for children in need of a loving family. That calling stayed with us as we grew our family with two biological children, but we always knew that God wasn’t finished writing our story. We believed our third child would come to us through adoption, and after years of prayer, seeking counsel, and stepping out in faith, we began this incredible journey.

A Calling Rooted in Faith

If we weren’t walking closely with Christ, adoption might have seemed too overwhelming. It’s far easier to choose comfort and control over the unknown. But through our faith, we’ve learned that God’s plans are far greater than our own. Adoption isn’t about convenience or ease—it’s about trusting Him and opening our hearts to His purpose.

For us, adoption is a reflection of God’s love. Just as He adopted us into His family, we felt called to extend that same love to a child in need.

Answering the Call

Our adoption journey began with a focus on Ethiopia, but after years of effort and significant investment, international adoptions from Ethiopia were no longer an option. It was a heartbreaking moment, but we held onto the conviction that God’s plan was still unfolding.

After that door closed, we focused on growing our family biologically while continuing to pray about adoption. Eventually, God led us to Ghana. While it wasn’t the path we originally imagined, His timing and provision became clear. After much prayer, we were matched with a child, and we knew this was the next step in our journey.

Trials That Strengthened Our Faith

The adoption process has been filled with highs and lows, and there have been moments when we’ve wondered why things had to be so difficult. From complex paperwork and financial challenges to immigration setbacks, every step has tested our patience and trust.

One of the most trying moments came when our I-800 application was initially denied, despite submitting everything required. It was an incredibly frustrating experience. Thankfully, with the help of an immigration attorney, we were able to file an appeal. Since that time, our application has been approved, and we’re praising God for bringing us one step closer to bringing our son home.

Through every challenge, we’ve seen God’s hand at work. Whether through encouragement from our church family, financial assistance from the Omnah Foundation, or the prayers of friends and loved ones, we’ve felt surrounded by His love and provision.

Walking in Faith

This journey has taught us so much about trust, perseverance, and reliance on God. There were times when it felt impossible to keep going, but we’ve been reminded again and again that His timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t feel that way.

As we prepare for the next steps—traveling to Ghana and bringing our child home—we are leaning on Him for strength and wisdom. We know there are still challenges ahead, but we are confident that He will carry us through.

How You Can Support Us

If you feel led, we would be so grateful for your prayers. Specifically, please pray for smooth final steps in this process, for peace as we travel, and for God to prepare our child’s heart for this transition.

If you would like to support us or other families walking this journey, we encourage you to consider giving to the Omnah Foundation. Their support has been invaluable to us, and your generosity can help make adoption possible for families like ours.

Closing Thoughts

Adoption is not just about adding to our family—it’s about living out the gospel and trusting in God’s perfect plan. We are incredibly humbled to be part of this journey and to witness His faithfulness every step of the way.

Thank you for walking with us through this season. Your prayers and support mean more to us than words can express.
